Sure, this could just be nostalgia in the sense of remembering things being better than they actually were, but I'm convinced that the children's TV shows of my time were far superior to those of today. Weekday afternoons on the ABC was where it was all at during the late 80's and early 90's. I wish they'd run Tintin and this again, rather than nonsense like Beyblades or Girl TV (I like Chrissie.)

I stood during the entire journey from the city to my station yesterday. Sure, halfway through the journey seats were available, and at about Glenfield the carriage was almost empty, but hey, I'm just that *hardcore. I stick to my guns.

*Stupid

samurai pizza cats. gargoyles. biker mice from mars. the tick. captain simian and the space monkeys. beast wars.

Amazing shows that would be religions in a half decent world.

Even teknoman was of infinitely greater quality than the jap crap they put on now. Teknoman was the only good anime on cheez TV (with the possible... possible exception of dragonball Z).

Goku is such a tease.

OK, I understand that I've said some shit about transformers, et al (well deservedly, too), but... I'm just watching TMNT now. It's actually not that bad. I can't tell much from 15 minutes, but the samurai rabbit's pretty cool, there are actual ninjas, and the animation quality and fight scenes are also cool. Even all the effects are pretty awesome; the wipes, the eye shots, the widescreening, all add to the ninja movie feel.

Also, Michaelangelo now sports a new york accent... dawg!

So overall I'd say it's still a decent show. It's certainly different from the old one, but it makes up for it's shortcomings with new coolness. Also, I have not seen Krang mentioned at all, which is good. Shredder wasn't seen either, so that can only be good, considering he turned into a bumbling buffoon in the later episodes & movies of the old TMNT.
