Question

My Uncle has a digital camera and takes a lot of pics.

His HDD is quickly filling up so we need to be able to save the pics elsewhere. We also want to be able to "transport" them to other computers quickly and easy.

Anyone know prices and brands of CD burners? Also where to get a good one?

My suggestion was a CD-R because he might only be burning small portions at a time (maybe 30 mb). and therefore he'd be able to keep the same cd for a while.

For some reason he'd prefer getting an external cd burner - I'm trying to convince him that it's not necessary - but if you know of any good external cd burners too, it'd be helpful.

I'm also open to other ideas if you can suggest them (ie. zip drive or somethin').

Not much money to spend.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

These days, any cd burner should be fine. Just so long as he uses quality media (that is, not buying 10ยข CDs), he shouldn't need to worry about re-archiving them for a few more years. I can't see the point in getting an external drive, seeing as how much more expensive they are (and slow unless he happens to have Firewire).
