No, this is not another post where I slag off Management/Employers etc.
Instead, I mean the above title to refer to the new look of this webpage.
I have one tiny small complaint (that really only effects me):
The colours now make it too obvious that I'm not doing any work and browsing the internet instead. I can't hide my monitor or what's on it where I sit at work; it's free and open for everyone to look at. I need like a text only version that I can read.
Don't get me wrong, I like the design/colours etc. I just don't "need" them to read the posts.
Also, this is probably IE's fault, but the text frames for posts are all over the place for me (as in their width/size etc.) Is this happening for anyone else?
PS. Where is my "icon" supposed to appear? I haven't seen it yet.
Your icon (and everyone elses) should appear next to your articles and your comments. If you can't see it, you might need to reload - the new page is larger in terms of Kilobytes, and so might not fully load if you don't have a cache of the page.
I asked Sunny if it was possible to have "themes", or perhaps a link you can click that would filter out all the design so it could be read in plain text for IE users or people at work. Apparently the way Blogger works makes this too hard or something.
I now know why it doesn't work under IE: IE interprets the box model differently (read: stupidly). It also does relative widths wrong. All my widths are relative, because the site's resolution independent (change the text size to see what I mean. It should look the same, but bigger). However, IE doesn't like that.
Fixing it is a big shit. That's because in order to be resolution independent, I've had to use boxes under boxes and stuff. I'd have to start from scratch.
If you want to login, add a story or comment, you'll need to view the page normally, but at least this way you can read the page without the glaring colours and images.
site looks great - but wtf is with my icon? where did you get that from anyway?
