Yet another re-design

I want to know if the new site is more readable or not. I'd also like to know if it displays correctly under IE.

Looks rather strange using Firefox - the black bar runs through the middle of the site's name and icon.

how about now?

It looks much better in IE than it used to.

Try testing the download time.
I ran it twice, and got different results: 13 seconds and 36 seconds. Both times, it reported 5 error it receives.

Interesting. I thought the site was only slow behind firewalls because certain things are blocked.

I think removing the ICQ icons would fix the problem, mostly.

It seems huge chunks of time are being spent connecting to multiple websites, but mostly on feed2js. I should think of a better solution. I think I'll likely go with moving the feed2js to camelworld and remove the ICQ icons. In addition, I should add titles to the icons, as well as links to profiles and things...

Done. The only thing slowing us down now should be the feedmap. I still think there's a fair bit of texture that's missing from the page. I'll try and add it when I get time.

OK. Feedmap is gone. Screw it, it's not like it was adding anything to the site. I also added a new texture. Hopefully this won't slow people down too much.

The performance test looks much healthier too. The feed2js is still the slowest part, but it's only as bad as the images, so I'll wear that.

Much better now. The re-design also gives the site a healthy communistic glow, which is always a plus!
